One of the reasons Kyokushin Karate was termed the “Strongest Karate” is because of the full contact kumite that is a component of the style. Kumite literally translates to ‘Grappling Hands and is practiced in various ways by Kyokushin karateka and Yudansha
- Light sparring as part of classes
- Learning taught through invitation Seminars
- Regional, National and International Full Contact Competitions
- To achieve each grading a pre-determined number of Kumite bouts are required
